Dr. Lisa Whittington has dedicated over twenty years to teaching art in urban environments to at-risk students. As an arts specialist in the public school system and adjunct Humanities Arts professor Lisa teaches various courses including Introduction to the Arts, Giants of the Arts, Feminist Arts, and Visual Arts and Media Literacy.
Dr. Whittington earned her doctorate in Art Education at the University of Georgia. She conducted an engaging qualitative study that would enlighten the nation to the realities of teaching art in poor environments. Her research serves as a tool to change and improve art education for at-risk children all around the nation.
To Lisa, providing quality art experiences to poor children is just as important as any artwork she could create.
